Safe Place Poetry Circle

We are celebrating our one year anniversary of Safe Place Poetry Circle for women in the Davidson County Jail system. This YouInspire program is led by the incredible facilitator and program director Amara Hall. Each week incarcerated women explore the freedom of expression and learn fresh ways of telling their story through a poetic art form. There were six graduating classes of Safe Place Poetry circle in 2019 with nearly all of the participants wanting to take the course again. There is a deep sense of connection and empowerment felt in these classes and we truly are amazed by Amara and her team that go weekly behind bars to tap into the beauty, rawness, and light of every individual they meet. Classes start February 2020
